The ways to cook cuttlefish and squid are many and all delicious. The stewed cuttlefish with peas, for example, are a classic and really delicious fish dish. But what if the peas, instead of in the accompanying sauce, used them for a filling and then baked cuttlefish? We’d have just as delicious baked cuttlefish stuffed. A second easy to prepare and perfect as a strong dish of a nice fish-based lunch.
Stuffed cuttlefish: a second of easy, fast and tasty fish
First of all, we need 4 already clean cuttlefish: we can think about it or get help from our trusted fishmonger. We will stuff them with a sauce of peas and cherry tomatoes cooked in a sautéed carrot and onion. After sprinkling them with breadcrumbs and seasoned with a little oil, we will cook the cuttlefish in the oven for half an hour and the result will be fantastic. An inviting dish, tasty but not heavy!
A trick to make the cuttlefish softer and reduce the cooking time in the oven a little? Let’s fall first in salted water for about 5 minutes.
Late spring or summer are definitely the best times to prepare this second dish of fish, because the first fresh peas are tender and sweet. Alternatively, however, we can safely use frozen ones: the goodness of the dish will not be affected at all. We can then prepare our cuttlefish stuffed with peas at any time of the year.
