Do you like to mess in the kitchen? To me, yes. Not in the sense of combining damage, but of creating beautiful, seasoned dishes, very tasty and substantial! A second that perfectly reflects this description is my baked chicken, an easy recipe that allows us to bring a baked chicken to the table in a delicious version different from the usual.
Covered with tomato sauce and béchamel sauce, flavored further with a generous sprinkling of grated cheese that with the béchamel begs creates an irresistible golden crust on the surface, this chicken will be a delight for everyone!
I used assorted pieces of chicken, but nothing forbids using only thighs and wings; just reach about a kilo and a half of meat. The important thing, in this dish, is to let the chicken well with salt and pepper before flouring it.
In my opinion it is perfect as the second of a Sunday lunch with the family, but also for an everyday dinner. If it should advance a little, we can store it in the fridge in a food container. The next day just heat it in the oven a few minutes.

Method
- We cut the chicken into pieces and season it well with salt and pepper. Let's let it flavor.
- In the meantime, we prepare the sauce: in a pan with a drizzle of olive oil we fry onions, carrots and chopped celery. Then add the tomato sauce, salt and cook for about 5 minutes.
- Now we stuff the pieces of chicken well and place them in a buttered baking dish. We cover the chicken with the tomato sauce and then add the béchamel sauce, distributing it on top with a spoon. Finally we sprinkle with grated cheese.
- We bake in a ventilated oven at 190 degrees for about 45 minutes, or in a static oven at 200 degrees C for the same time.
