There are many ways to cook cuttlefish and squid, and all of them are delicious. Stewed cuttlefish with peas, for example, are a classic and truly tasty fish dish. But what if, instead of serving the peas in the sauce, we used them as a stuffing and then baked the cuttlefish? The result would be equally delicious oven-baked stuffed cuttlefish — an easy main course, perfect as the centerpiece of a lovely fish-based lunch.

Oven-Baked Stuffed Cuttlefish : an Easy, Quick, and Delicious Fish Main Course

First, we need 4 cleaned cuttlefish — you can prepare them yourself or ask your trusted fishmonger for help. We’ll stuff them with a filling made from peas and cherry tomatoes, cooked with sautéed carrot and onion. After sprinkling them with breadcrumbs and drizzling a little oil on top, we’ll bake the cuttlefish in the oven for about half an hour. The result is fantastic: a delicious, inviting dish that’s tasty but light!”

Want a trick to make the cuttlefish more tender and reduce the oven cooking time a bit? First, boil them in salted water for about 5 minutes.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 seppie Clean
  • 150 g peas fresh or frozen
  • 1to2 onions
  • 1 carrots
  • 100 g tomatoes pachino
  • breadcrut q.b
  • Extra virgin olive oil q.b
  • salt up q.b

Method
 

  1. In a pan we sauté in a little oil the carrot and the chopped onion.
  2. Add the peas and cook for a few minutes.
  3. We also combine the tomatoes cut into wedges, we adjust salt and last the cooking.
  4. We arrange the clean cuttlefish in a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and stuff them with the pea sauce and cherry tomatoes
  5. We dust them with breadcrumbs and sprinkle them with oil.We cook in a preheated ventilated oven at 180 degrees C for about 30 minutes, or at 190 degrees C in a static oven for the same time.
